Challenge
In today's environment of care, work requests arrive from across the hospital, physician office buildings and cross-town surgery centers. How can these requests be tracked and responded to without hours being spent both talking on the phone and entering the request into the system?

Solution
EQ2 Web Enterprise meets this challenge by utilizing Intra/Internet technologies to provide work requesters access to HEMS Enterprise. Accessing the hospital's Intranet/Internet, the requester navigates to the Engineering Work Request Page. Once the requester logs on, EQ2 Web Enterprise saves his/her name, telephone number, department and location. Upon entering the request, an email is automatically sent to both the HEMS Enterprise work coordinator and work requester confirming acceptance of the work request. A work order is automatically generated in HEMS Enterprise and printed to a specified printer.

Requesters can check the status of work requests at any time.

Engineers can also quickly close work orders and assign themselves work requests -- with literally a couple of mouse clicks.

Once a work order has been created, EQ2 Completion Reporter then tracks the status of the work order. When this work is completed, EQ2 Completion Reporter sends an email to the work requester notifying him/her that the work has been completed.
