Contact & Photo Tachometers
QRS Calibrations offers high quality contact and photo tachometers manufactured by Extech Instruments. Extech models include contact tachometers, photo tachometers, and combination tachometers with different specific features including built-in infrared thermometer or laser photo reading. All of these tachometers are ISO 9001:2008 certified by TUV.
Contact and photo tachometers measure the rotation speed of a disk or shaft, indicating the number of revolutions made within a minute. Contact tachometers come in physical contact with the surface speed to be measured, and may temporarily be connected to the moving shaft during measurement. Photo tachometers do not touch the surface speed to be measured. These tachometers use a light beam and a reflective mark placed on the surface of the moving object.
